Bio

Asmita Bhat works as a Researcher with the Machine Learning group at TU Kaiserslautern. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science, specializing in Intelligent Systems, from TU Kaiserslautern and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), India. Alongside her Masters, she was working as a Junior Researcher at AWSi, Saarbrucken and later as a Research Assistant at DFKI, Kaiserslautern. She has also worked as a Software Engineer at Mobiliya Technologies in Pune, India.

Research interests

She is interested in Probabilistic as well as Statistical Machine Learning. Her research is focused around unsupervised learning for vision and language applications, especially using deep generative models. She also has a sweet spot for collaborative filtering, explainable AI and fairness in ML.
