Bio

Waleed is a Ph.D. student at the Machine Learning group of TU Kaiserslautern since 2019. Before that, he obtained his Master's degree from Hamburg University in 2019 and his Bachelor's degree from Helwan University, 2009. Waleed started working as a research assistant on breast cancer detection. Then he worked on automatic speech recognition and text to speech for the Arabic language. He also worked as a research assistant at Microsoft Research (MSR), Advanced Technology Labs in Cairo (ATLC) where he worked on speech recognition. He worked as well as a research assistant at the Arabic language technology team in Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI).

Research interests

Waleed is interested in machine learning theory and algorithms. He is currently interested in the generalization properties of Deep Neural Networks and structured prediction.
